WESTBURY?CEMETERY?came to life yesterday morning when close to 80 employees of the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA)?gathered there in solidarity with cemetery workers, who are refusing to work with their boss Superintendent of Cemeteries Ricky Cummins.
The employees, including garbage collectors, truck drivers and cleaners, said the work stoppage would continue until Cummins was reassigned.
Several collection and dump trucks were parked in the cemetery from as early as 6 a.m.
However, the action did not stop the five funerals scheduled for Westbury Cemetery yesterday, mainly because the graves were already prepared on Monday. (MB)
