Urgent call for big brothers

More males are being encouraged to assist with programmes for secondary school students.
This call is coming from chief executive officer of Supreme Counselling for Personal Development, Shawn Clarke, who told the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday that there was an urgent need for committed male mentors to participate in a Supreme Mentoring Programme which target students of five secondary schools throughout the school year.
He said the programme has advertised on social media and other options for mentors since June and has only attracted 30 interested females and males.
However, he said, this year the programme has 84 between the ages of 12 and 13 years old, the majority of whom are males, to be placed with mentors. “We are sending out an appeal to young committed men to join the programme for a year who can give a minimum of eight hours per month to be mentors.
