Hillaby Turner’s Hall do double

Hillaby Turner’s Hall Primary predictably did the double, when the remaining events in the Anton Norris Zone of the Pine Hill National Primary Schools’ Athletic Championships (NAPSAC) were finally completed yesterday at the National Stadium.
Just nine more events were due to be completed yesterday, those being the open boys’ and girls’ high jump; the cricket ball throw for Under-9 boys as well as for both the boys and girls in the Under-11 and Under-13 divisions; the Under-11 boys’ long jump, and the Under-7 boys’ tennis ball throw.
Turners Hall had held a comfortable 30 and 38-point lead, respectively, in the girls’ and boys’ divisions.
They eventually ended on 168 points in the girls, with A. Dacosta Edwards Primary second on 149 points, and All Saints third with 121.50 points.
In the boys, Turners Hall amassed a whopping 180 points, some ways clear of the second placed St Judes Primary (140), and All Saints, who again placed third after compiling 118 points.
There was a three-way tie for the coveted victor ludorum title, with Torian Waldron of Turner’s Hall, Nicholi Peters of St James Primary, and Raheem Taitt-Best of St Martin’s Mangrove all finishing on 28 points. Cuthbert Moore Primary’s Jahlia Denny also finished on 28 points to be crowned the victrix ludorum.
