King to spend Christmas in prison

A man charged with 19 counts of criminal damage, assault, firearms, drugs and theft will spend the Christmas and New Year holidays at HMP Dodds.

Jermaine Kenneth King, 31, of No 274 4th Avenue Windward Gardens, St Philip, was represented by attorneys Naomi Linton and Andrew Pilgrim QC when he appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.

He was not required to plead to 12 indictable offences that included illegal possession of a firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition and discharging a firearm in a public place that placed six people’s lives in danger.

He however denied illegal possession of drugs, damaging two sets of property belonging to the Crown and assaulting and resisting two police officers in the execution of their duty.

He returns to court on January 22 by consent. (RA)
