The Opposition Barbados Labour Party will be meeting with vendors tomorrow following a two-day operation by police in Bridgetown last week.
Leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley yesterday described the Royal Barbados Police Force’s Operation Recapture Bridgetown as offensive in name and antagonistic in its approach.
On Friday, the unit descended on The City in what Acting Assistant Superintendent Anderson Bowen said was an effort to rid The City of lawless behaviour and to ensure that vendors complied with the law. Two people were charged following the exercise.
But Mottley said that several vendors had called her concerned about not being able to ply their trade without being put on the run by the police. (AC)
