Pride will lead to a fall

BARBADIANS HAVE become too proud and have forsaken God in many ways. God wants us as a nation to humble ourselves and return to Him so He can heal our land.
This message rang out last Friday night as Prophetess Marguerite Breedy-Haynes of Saving The Lost At Any Cost Ministry preached at The Garrison, St Michael.
During a service filled with dancing, hand-clapping and other expressions of praise and worship, Breedy-Haynes said pride was even taking over many congregations and even pastors and church members “are competing against each other”.
Her sermon looked at the life of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (Daniel, Chapter 4), whom God had to humble because of his pride and failure to give God His due glory.
“God says no man will share His glory and Barbados will not share His glory. God is telling this nation He is the one who built and exalted you and anyone who wants to take His glory will come down,” she stressed.
Breedy-Haynes also noted that “any nation, believer, prime minister, pastor or leader of any sort who allows the spirit of pride to enter their lives will take a fall”.
She made reference to Satan who, because of his pride, rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven.
“Pride is a demonic spirit and it has controlled many. God is saying if we do not come to the place of humility, He will humble us. A nation should and must persevere with God, not without Him. Even King Nebuchadnezzar later recognized that he did rule any nation but God does, because God’s kingdom is from everlasting to everlasting. No one can hold back God’s hand or say to Him, “What have you done?”
She said that in order to end the recession, God must be exalted and “if Barbados wants the glory of God to return [to] its finances, we as a nation must return to God – the foundation upon which this nation has been built.”
She said “Barbados was once a nation that revered God but many have now turned from God to follow after various idols. God is saying I will shake and bring the nation down to the ground until it realizes that I am God.”
The minister reiterated, “With pride comes disgrace and to every leader God is saying ‘I must be first in your nation. No other God must be exalted above me’.
“God says He is angry with the nation that is secure within itself and many people are saying ‘we do not need God anymore. We just need to believe in ourselves’.”
She said “God has chosen this gem of a nation to be His and He wants to make it beautiful again.”
She also disclosed that self-righteousness, selfishness, vanity and disrespect were all wrapped up with pride and have caused many a church to split because everybody wants to outdo everyone else.
The no-nonsense preacher admitted that the spirit of pride was also operating within her own ministry.
“God does not want this kind of spirit in His children and it should not be in the Body of Christ,” she said.
