MINISTER OF INDUSTRY, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development Donville Inniss has promised to step up efforts to tackle intellectual property breaches.
The newly appointed minister said he would not back down when it came to cracking down on piracy across the island.
Inniss’ comments were on the heels of recent concerns raised by those in the music industry that piracy and counterfeiting could damage the business if not addressed with urgency.
“The issue of enforcement of intellectual property rights is by no means an easy task in today’s technologically advanced world,” said Inniss yesterday, the final day of the two-day workshop for law enforcement officials on building respect for intellectual property rights. (MM)
