Crowds, but no lifeguards

The tower at the popular Dover Beach in Christ Church remained closed yesterday as lifeguards continued their sick-out following the laying off of 31 colleagues last week by the National Conservation Commission.
In spite of the closure of this and other lookout stations across the island, many beaches drew the usual big Sunday crowds, but some bathers expressed concern about the lack of lifeguards on duty.
