Two weeks after police launched an investigation into viral video of a child drinking from a beer bottle, no one has been charged.
And child rights champion Faith Marshall-Harris is slamming those who post such videos for engaging in juicy gossip rather than reporting the possible offences to the relevant authorities in the interest of the children.
The recording, which made the rounds about two weeks ago, shows the child in the presence of a man and woman who are speaking, while the infant is chugging from the bottle. The image sparked a public outcry and prompted an instant response from makers of the beer, Banks Holdings denouncing the use of its alcoholic beverages by children. Police and the Child Care Board eventually got involved.
On Thursday, all acting public relations officer of the Royal Barbados Police Force Sergeant Michael Blackman would say on the matter was that after the investigation “no charges were proffered”. (AC)
