The three-year drug suspension imposed on Ramon Broomes could be extended in light of the former Barbados bodybuilding champion competing in Las Vegas last week.

Broomes competed a few days ago at the Amateur Olympia which is a violation of National Anti-Doping Commission (NADC) rules, which prohibit athletes from competing while under suspension.

Chairman of NADC, Dr Adrian Lorde said the matter will be referred to its disciplinary committee.

“He could be in violation of the ban and if that comes to us, then he could be subjected to the effects of the violation of the sanction. According to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code, he would have broken the sanction imposed on him,” Lorde said. (MK)
