Residents of Country Park Towers appear to be in the dark over the stabbing of a young woman there on Monday afternoon.
Several told the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday they were not around when the incident occurred at the Country Road, St Michael high-rise housing development.
One woman, who declined to give her name, said she did not know much about the people involved, but was aware it was a domestic situation where the man “would come and go”.
“They always have a noise, and he would beat her sometimes. He would come and go all the time, and I always say he would kill her,” she said.
Another resident, who also declined to be named, said she was at home when the incident occurred, but was only made aware of the situation late Monday night when someone telephoned to ask her about it.
“I does be inside all the time. I don’t know much about the people, except that the girl is very polite and she does hair,” she said.
The victim’s mother, who declined to give both her name and her daughter’s, said she was also not at home at the time.
She would only say her daughter had surgery and was warded at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and she could not say anything until after she had spoken to her.
When contacted, acting police public relations officer, Sergeant Michael Blackman, said he could not confirm details of the incident, but a man was in custody assisting with investigations. (RA)
