VIVIAN BLENMAN, at 101 years old, would have been happier if she was celebrating her birthday at home instead of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
But she is still thankful that friends and family spent the special day at her bedside last Saturday.
However, plans are still on to host the usual birthday bash for Blenman when she is discharged from hospital and returns to her Licorish Village, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael home.
Carla Blenman said her grandmother was in good spirits and happy to reach the milestone.
“She is happy to see another birthday, a bit disappointed that we did not get the keep the birthday [party] at home but happy that we surprised her with a little celebration at the hospital,”
Carla said. She said her grandmother was in good health with no complaints, except for her hip. She was scheduled for surgery this week.
