MINISTER OF EDUCATION Santia Bradshaw made her first appearance in Parliament yesterday since announcing she had been diagnosed with “early stage” breast cancer.

The 42-year-old Member of Parliament for St Michael South East made the disclosure to her constituents at a branch meeting on August 19. She however reassured them of her determination to beat the disease and of her confidence in being able to get the best care from her doctors in Barbados and overseas.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley also told Bradshaw’s St Michael South East constituents at that meeting: “Santia is going to be able to function normally for most of the time and on those days when she can’t, the rest of us will step in.” (GC)
