If there is anyone who can tame high-flying Weymouth Wales, it’s traditional champions Claytons Kola Tonic Notre Dame.
Two of the island’s most coveted clubs will do battle in the feature match at the National Stadium when Digicel Premier League football action continues today.
The 8 p.m. clash promises to be a “cracker”.
Wales will be seeking to maintain their perfect record and take their tally to 18 points.
However, Notre Dame need to close the gap if they are to remain within touching distance of the leaders.
Two of last week’s hat-trick players, Dwayne Stanford and Carl Joseph, will have to lead their teams’ respective attacks and each coach will be hoping for a performance like their last.
In the opening match at 4 p.m., KDJ Auto Parts/Gatorade Dayrells Road and Gall Hill will do battle.
After two successive losses Gall Hill will be looking to redeem themselves but may have to do it without the leadership of custodian Omari Eastmond who is awaiting a hearing with the national association.
Dayrells Road have had a rough time thus far in the big league with one win from four games.
They will need to grab maximum points from this encounter if they are to stay in the mix of things, while avoiding the cellar of the standings. They will be banking on the prowess of front man Tristan “Fishy” Parris and the creativity of Curtis Odle to lead them to victory against a Gall Hill team who will be short on confidence after their last two matches.
At 6 p.m. Bagatelle will be hoping to transfer their luck to the stadium. The St Thomas unit has captured six points at Orange Hill field but their performances at the National Stadium have been sub-par, failing to register a win there.
Bagatelle’s opponent will be Mackeson Brittons Hill, who are coming of a determined win versus Dayrells Road last week.
