THE CAREERS AND projects that science students can pursue were on display today when the science department of the Barbados Community College hosted its Young Scientists at Work showcase.
Coordinator Akilah Williams said people often thought of medicine and engineering and other traditional areas when students study science but there are many professions that require a science background.
“Sometimes students feel lost when they do not get into the medical programme . . . . There is so much else that you can do,” Williams said.
The final year students showcased their projects which included make up, beauty care products, tie dye and the use of recycled materials to make practical items to be used around the house. (LK)
