Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) general secretary David Hinds and long-serving referee Mark “Bob” Forde are now in The Bahamas, where they were scheduled to appear before FIFA’s Ethics Committee’s investigating team yesterday.
The two Bajans were among a group of Caribbean Football Union (CFU) officials to be questioned by FIFA investigators about their knowledge of US$40 000 bribes offered by former FIFA Executive Committee member Mohammed bin Hammam to regional associations at a meeting in Trinidad and Tobago in May.
They were summoned to the hearing in The Bahamas in relation to apparent violations of the Code of Ethics connected to the investigation of the cases related to that special meeting of CFU delegates that was attended by bin Hammam, along with former FIFA vice-president Austin “Jack” Warner.
A reliable source told the DAILY NATION that a number of charges had been brought against both Hinds and Forde.
