Kings Beach Hotel is no longer standing but the legal battle over its proposed sale more than six years ago appears to be on the verge of escalating.
The DAILY NATION has learnt that last Thursday Justice Elneth Kentish dismissed Roseal Services Limited’s $64 million lawsuit against Michael L. Challis, Marcus J. F. Clarke and Anthony Reid and also ruled that Roseal had to repay the three defendants $650 000 held as a deposit on the sale of the Road View, St Peter hotel that was eventually demolished.
But in a swift response to the outcome, Roseal’s legal team of Barry Gale, QC, and Leodean Worrell said it was “wholly dissatisfied with the result”.
Gale added that while the written decision would be carefully reviewed once they received it, “an appeal seems very likely” based on the oral one.
