The second annual St Michael North-West Development Foundation Senior Scenic Ride came off yesterday without a hitch.
President Chris Sinckler, who is also the parliamentary representative, said around 450 seniors took part in the trip this year, over 100 more than last year.
“This is part of our community outreach programme. Earlier we had a Beach Bash on Brandons Beach for the youth and next we will be having the Lawson Weekes school programme in June for children sitting the 11-Plus [Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination], followed by a Back To School programme in August,” he said, adding it was going very well and there were no problems.
The highlight of the day was when Sinckler stopped to chat with 93-year-old Evelyn Roach, the oldest person there. She showed how lively she still was by surprising the parliamentarian with a kiss on the cheek.
