Four more swimming golds

Team Barbados now have 22 medals after winning 11 more, including four golds, on Saturday night at the CARIFTA Swimming Championships in The Bahamas.
The Barbadians won gold through Kimberley Willoughby with a time of 36.15 seconds in the 13-to-14 Girls’ 50 metres breaststroke and Hannah Gill touched first in 1:02.73 in the 11-to-12 Girls’ 100 metres freestyle, her second gold medal of the meet.
Damon St Prix stopped the clock to win gold in the 11-to-12 Boys’ 200 metres butterfly in 2:32.11 and Amara Gibbs won the Girls’ 15-to-17 race in 2:24.75.
Willoughby was one of four silver medallists with a time of 2:32.81 in the 200 individual medley and  Zabrina Holder picked up another medal with 2:28.91 in the Girls’ 15-to-17 age group.
Sariyah Sherry was second in the Girls’ 13-to-14 100 metres freestyle in 1:00.43 and Kendi Bynoe clocked 2:43.77 in the 11-to-12 Girls’ 200 butterfly.
Mathew Courtis won the team’s first medal in the Boys’ 15-to-17 age group, placing third in a time of 2:14.28 in the 200 metres butterfly, and the Girls’ 800 metres freestyle relay teams took the other medals.
In the 13-to-14 age group, Willoughby, Alexis Clarke, Kai Proverbs and Sherry were third in 9:21.85 and the senior girls’ side of Lee-Ann Rose, Holder, Deandre Small and Gibbs also placed third in 9:07.32.
The medal tally now stands at seven gold, seven silver and eight bronze.
