Windies told:  Keep heads up

“KEEP your heads high!”
    That’s the advice from West Indies captain Darren Sammy to his team following the loss of the opening Digicel Test against Australia yesterday.
“We did a lot of good things, and remember in the pre-match interview both captains said one bad hour could turn around the game, and that’s exactly what happened in this Test match,” Sammy said after West Indies’ three-wicket defeat at Kensington Oval.
“We dominated Australia for three and a half days and even today (yesterday) when we bowled, we made them fight for that 190. Like we have shown throughout the One-Day and Twenty 20 series, we believe we do not only compete but we can win games against good opposition. Even yesterday, when we went in at 74 for four, I think, or five, we believe had we gotten to 220, we would have declared as well and give them a target.”
Sammy reckoned they could have won had they batted into the post-lunch session but Australia, given 61 overs to complete their target, held their nerve to win despite a slight stutter.
