FIFA bans ex-Dominica PM

THE LAST BALL in FIFA’s bribery allegations hasn’t been kicked yet.
And this time, one of the Caribbean’s former prime ministers has fallen victim.
Former Prime Minister of Dominica Patrick John, a high-ranking member of the Dominica Football Association, was banned for two years yesterday by soccer’s world governing body.
He was one of five Caribbean Football Union (CFU) officials reprimanded.
Along with being prevented from taking part in any football-related activity  (administrative, sports or any other) the former leader was also fined BDS$6 600. 
Yesterday’s decision was made by the FIFA Ethics Committee, chaired by Claudio Sulser of Switzerland, which had met in Zurich this week regarding the ethics proceedings that were opened in October against  CFU officials.
The further sanctions came after a number of decisions made by FIFA last month, following the scandal which rocked FIFA. (BA)
