It was back to business at Sheraton Mall in Christ Church on Monday, but it was not business as usual.
While the usually bustling mall was looking a little more like its old self following the reopening of some of its stores, it was still mostly empty.
Barbados has entered into phase 2 of its reopening schedule after a lockdown due to COVID-19. For Sheraton, this meant stores such as T&C Stationery, Promotech, DE Computers, Circuit Electronics and Dollar Wise could open. In addition, hardware store Do It Best and supermarket iMart had never closed.
However, the COVID-19 protocols are still in effect so those doing business at these stores either had to order ahead and pick up; conduct transactions outside the individual stores as customers were not being allowed inside or line up and wait until the maximum number of allowed customers had been reduced.
