St John residents are being promised a number of major developments that should soon get rolling.
Parliamentary representative Charles Griffith told the media yesterday following a service at St John’s Parish Church that Government will launch a housing project in Pool and a farming programme in Wakefield, while the road network improvement programme is to continue.
“One the things happening in St John is that several young people have been finding work in the ash programme, but a major initiative coming to St John is the farming project at Wakefield, where 50 acres were donated to youngsters from in the constituency. To date I have over 30 participants who would have registered for the project. It is expected that within the next two weeks or so that project would be launched,” said Griffith, who is also Minister in the Ministry of Water Resources.
“So St John is definitely rising. You would have heard about the HOPE (Home Ownership Providing Energy) programme that is coming out of the Ministry of Housing. I am pleased to say that at Pool, there would be 180-plus lots that would be part of that housing programme. The good thing about that programme is that adjacent to that is a new national park at Pool Woods, which was part of the Clean And Green initiative.”
