Cops record over 1 000 COVID-19 breaches

The Royal Barbados Police Force says it has come across more than 1 000 breaches of COVID-19 regulations, especially during the curfew hours, since the restrictions were instituted in late March last year.

Deputy Commissioner Erwin Boyce told the DAILY NATION the force had doubled its efforts during the pandemic as it tried to keep the country safe, but a lot of Barbadians, in particular those making their way home at night, were not happy about being stopped by law enforcement officials.

“The force has been out in numbers and has been paying attention to hotspots in public spaces and performing law enforcement activities to ensure that people are safe,” he said. (SB)
