Women’s national team goalkeeper Rhea Holder is now the assistant coach for the Barbados Under-17 girls’ football team.

Holder was recently appointed to the position prior to last month’s Concacaf qualifiers in Miami, Florida.

Despite playing a very attractive style of football, the Bajan Belles lost two of their matches in the competition, going down 2-1 to Belize and 2-0 to Curacao.

Holder said, however, she was pleased to be working with a very talented group of young players.

“I am very excited about my role as assistant coach for numerous reasons,” Holder told NATIONSPORT during an interview. “I get a chance to pass on my knowledge and experiences to the upcoming future of women’s football from a former player’s perspective. This group of girls will do exceptionally well.” (AGB)
