Comedian Kyle Cozier has given the term fun-sized a whole new meaning. He is no class clown, but admittedly playing mind games comes easy to him, just as putting smiles on faces. At 19 years old and almost 6 feet 4 inches tall, he is the youngest member of the 2018 production of Laff-it-Off.
He goes by the stage-sounding name kick ice which is cleverly and explicitly spelt kyKycc. And if you find yourself tongue-tied, it’s Ice for short.
Despite his having no recollection, he said his parents Vaughn Cozier and Colvin Cozier have vivid memories of him jumping around on chairs, “slinging webs” after he had seen Spiderman as a child. This, he said, ignited his interest in the arts.
He described himself as the most understanding human being you will ever meet and he is an avid gamer.
His career in entertainment began after his English literature teacher at the St Michael School, Gloria Haynes, noticed how expressive and well spoken he was.
She then introduced him to Carl Alff Padmore who also saw the youngster’s potential; he was instrumental in Kyle’s opportunity to become the master of ceremonies for the Scotiabank Junior Calypso Monarch.
“I believe I was always quiet, but if anybody needed a good laugh. I wouldn’t do it in the class, I would wait until lunch or break, he told WEEKEND BUZZ.
He first completed the theatre arts programme at Barbados Community College (BCC) and is second Associate degree – three-year psychology pursuits.
In the meantime he continues to juggle entertainment gigs and planning for a soon-to-be YouTube gaming channel. (TG)
