Sydney Simmons passes

FORMER TEACHER, broadcaster, manufacturing executive and author Sydney Simmons has died.

Reports are that he had been ailing for some time and passed away in hospital Tuesday.

Simmons started as a teacher at Erdiston Model School in 1962 and later moved into radio, becoming one of the earliest scriptwriters for the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). (JS)
