LOCAL CHICKEN PRODUCERS and some restaurants that have chicken as the main item on their menu are not planning to increase their prices immediately.

Manager at Star Chick, Wendell Clarke said based on discussion at the last internal management meeting, the company was still working out how it would respond to the controversial National Social Responsibility Levy (NSRL).

“We have some factors, one or two things gone up, one gone down and one gone cross, so we are trying to get our train together to see if we get a hybrid to make a decision by Friday,” Clarke said.

Meanwhile, the managing director of the island’s largest fast-food chain, Chefette, Ryan Haloute, said it was holding its prices and would continue to do so. (LK)
