A 65-year-old American drowned at Pebbles Beach, St Michael, earlier today.

The Caucasian visitor came to the island this morning on board cruise ship Grandeur Of The Seas. The vessel is expected to leave at 4 p.m.

Ronald William Grane was on a bus tour from the ship, which made the prearranged stop at the beach about 10:05 a.m.

His body was found floating in the water and was brought ashore by three unknown individuals.

Grane was treated by medical personnel from the Island Care Ambulance service who were onsite, but showed no signs of life.

Police investigations are continuing. (PR/SAT)
