Masters Festival gets going

EIGHTEEN MATCHES WILL be played at four venues in Over-40 and Over-50 age groups when the 21st annual Banks Barbados International Masters Football Festival kicks off today at 2 p.m.

Representatives of the sponsors, Rodney King (Banks), Devon Chase (The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.) and Keisha Humphrey-Mayers (Scotiabank) all gave brief remarks as they joined players and organisers for the pre-tournament launch at the Sporting Pig Sports Bar in St Lawrence Gap, Dover, yesterday.

The Festival has been sanctioned by the Barbados Football Association and president Randy Harris, in his brief welcome remarks, said even though the BFA are not the direct organisers, he was proud to be involved with it.

Matches in the Over-40 competition will be played at Wanderers, the Desmond Haynes Oval at the Carlton Club, and Dover, while the Over-50s will be in action at the Kick Start playing venue in Highgate. (EZS)
