Mona out to repeat as champs

DEFENDING UWI GAMES champions Mona have promised to pull out all the stops to retain the title.

This was the declaration from the team during the Games’ opening ceremony at the Cave Hill Campus yesterday.

While the hosts promised to “up de ting” and St Augustine declared they were “jammin’ still”, Mona could not be drowned out with their chants of “We believe”.

In 2015, the Mona Pelicans won the biennial championship by four points from arch-rivals Cave Hill Blackbirds, and they are aiming to duplicate that performance with a strong showing from the football contingent. (RA)
