Spate of accidents leave 12 injured

FIVE MORE PEOPLE were injured on Barbadian roads on Sunday, bringing the total to 12 in fewer than 12 hours.

At Waterford, St Michael, Deborah Howell-Cadogan, 54, of Friendly Hall, St Michael was involved in a collision with a car driven by 60-year-old Danny Gill of Jackson in the same parish around 7:15 a.m.

Howell-Cadogan complained of pain to the right hip and right leg and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by ambulance for medical attention.

Gill was taken to the QEH by private vehicle for treatment of chest pain.

Police are also conducting investigations into another accident around 8 a.m. at My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, involving a car and a van, where three people were injured.

The car was driven by Samuel Boyce 36, of Arch Hall, St Thomas, who was accompanied by 57-year-old Cynthia Boyce of Bayville, St Michael, while the van was driven by Thomas Harris, 49, of Buttals, Grove, St George.

All three complained of chest pains. Harris sought private medical attention, while Cynthia Boyce and Samuel Boyce were taken to the QEH by ambulance.
