BASHMENT OF ANOTHER kind could be brewing at this year’s Barbados Yellow Pages Bashment Soca competition.
With the competition’s second edition expected to be held on July 7 at Kensington Oval, several bashment soca artistes have already created controversy by telling the SATURDAY SUN they were fed up as the competition was one where the “winner takes all”.
Artistes Lady Essence, Hardware, Sherrian Norris and Stabby were all of the opinion that the $500 performance fee given to the non-winning artistes at the finals was simply not enough to offset the huge expenditure they must incur.
Lady Essence said she spent over $4 000 in preparing for last year’s competition. (AD)
