IT WAS A determined fight to the finish, but Christ Church Foundation emerged victorious yesterday on Day Two of action in the Esther Maynard Zone of the Powerade Barbados Secondary Schools’ Athletics Championships (BSSAC).

At lunch time only one point separated the new zone titleholders from defending champions Scotiabank Springer Memorial at the National Stadium.

However, Foundation dug deep and pulled out all the stops to win with 479 points, followed by Springer who tallied 440 points. Harrison College, with 318.50 points, settled for third place.

The lads from Crumpton Street, The City, ensured they blazed the trail all day, ousting defending champions Christ Church Foundation, who settled for second place this time around.
