BARBADIAN STUDENTS were not targeted in the Guild of Students’ elections last Wednesday, says the Guild of Students at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus.
The Barbados Students Association (BSA) had publicly lodged complaints over what it deemed as unfair treatment by the guild council after three Barbadians were barred from contesting the elections.
The elections went ahead without the Barbadian candidates and Jamaican Kai Bridgewater was elected president.
BSA president Kareem Smith said last Wednesday marked “what can be considered a truly sad day in the history of student government at the Cave Hill campus”. (AD)
