OBEROI, partnered by jockey Reshawn Latchman, gave further testimony to her budding potential by bagging the George Corbin Memorial Handicap over 1 570 metres at the Garrison Savannah yesterday.

Her victory showcased all the traits necessary for her to be a major force in the upcoming Barbados Triple Crown Classics.

Oberoi, a daughter of Roccamador out of Derby winner Leave It To Me, contested the early pace with Black Rock.

After racing on the outside, she proceeded to battle to the very end, prevailing over a never-say-die Black Rock, who briefly appeared to have thrown in the towel entering the home stretch.

As Latchman went to work, an Oberoi victory never looked in doubt despite a surge by Back Rock over the last half of a furlong.
