TIME OUT AT THE GAP, which was part of the controversial Gems Project, has been sold.
Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy made the announcement moments ago at his annual press conference, which is ongoing at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Sealy revealed the former state-owned property at Dover, Christ Church, was sold for $7.5 million.
He said the property is now part of the Sun Group, which is owned by Barbadian hotelier Bernie Weatherhead, who was running the hotel under a lease arrangement with government.Â
The Sun Group is also operating Almond in St Peter and Savannah Hotel in Hastings, Christ church, under a similar lease arrangement.Â
Sealy says Government is divesting itself of all the former Gems of Barbados properties. Blue Horizon Hotel at Rockley has already been sold and offers are being considered for the Savannah Hotel. (GE)
