FORMER PRIME MINISTER Owen Arthur says he’s no one’s puppeteer.
The former leader of the Barbados Labour Party is unhappy that his name has been associated with the country’s newest political party in a Facebook post by one of his former ministers.
The post, written by former minister Liz Thompson, suggested Arthur was running the just launched United Progressive Party (UPP) from behind the scenes.
Barbados Today carried a story attributing a number of statements to Thompson’s Facebook post which claimed that attorney-at-law Lynette Eastmond, chairperson of the UPP, was merely fronting for Arthur as head of the new initiative. (BA)
