PRIMARY SCHOOLS will be running up the bills just to run down to the Usain Bolt Complex.
The Transport Board’s issues have hit home in the sporting arena, as some country schools are reporting transport costs as high as $1 000 just to get their athletes to this year’s National Primary Schools’ Athletic Championships (NAPSAC).
Physical education teachers have been expressing their woes after NAPSAC chairman Richmark Cave advised schools to seek alternative transportation due to the shortage of Transport Board buses.
“It is going to impact us a lot because we just don’t have those funds, and it will be a problem for us to raise that money quickly to make sure we get the children to Usain Bolt on time,” said Ignatius Byer teacher Anderson Rollock.
