LANICIA HAREWOOD and Kevion Newton guided Yellow House to their third consecutive victory at the Wesley Hall inter-house championships at the National Stadium yesterday.
In a hard-fought contest, Yellow won the title with 598 points, with Blue finishing second with 583, Green third on 543 and Red 500.
Eleven-year-old Harewood took the victrix ludorum title with a total of 47 points in the Under-13 division.
She won the 400 metres and the 600 metres open in a record time of 1 minute, 58.30 seconds.
Harewood placed second in the 100 metre dash behind Tamika Husbands, who broke Trenesha Goodridge’s record with a time 14.87. seconds. Harewood’s time of 14.88 seconds was also lower than the previous record.
She also finished second in the 200 metres in a race where the first three finishers completed times that were faster than the previous record. The race was won by Aneisha Stoute-Dyer.
The consistent Harewood also took the silver medal in the long jump.
Victor ludorum Newton won the 100 metres, 200 metres, long jump and cricket ball throw to finish with 40 points.
He was also part of the Yellow House quartet that broke the record they set last year in the 4×100 metres relay with a new mark of 1:00.68.
Another Yellow House athlete, Tyesha Trotman, burnt up the track in the Under-9 division by tallying 40 points, winning the 80 metres, 100 metres, 150 metres and long jump and anchoring the 4×100 metres relay team home.
Green’s Thierry Corbin tallied 38 points to win the Under-13 Boys’ division title after victories in the 200 metres, 400 metres and long jump and a second place in the 100 metres. (RG)   Â
