THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE officer of the Barbados Agriculture Society (BAS) is warning customers about buying pork this Christmas.
During an interview recently, BAS boss James Paul told the SATURDAY SUN that the demand for pork had increased and as a result some farmers fell victim to the thieves.
“There is very little we can do about it . . . If pork is stolen it obviously wouldn’t go straight to market,” he said.
Paul also raised the issue of illegal slaughtering practices that can put consumers at risk to diseases. (SB)
