THREE ACTIVE WEATHER SYSTEMS have sent some sweltering heat Barbados’ way.

The highest temperature recorded at Grantley Adams International Airport over the weekend was 31. 8° Celsius on Sunday, and acting senior meteorologist Rosalind Blenman said the thermometer might have tipped higher in other parts of the island.

Speaking to the DAILY NATION during an open day at their Charnocks, Christ Church offices, Blenman said while Hurricane Nicole was far away from Barbados, her presence was still being felt in the northern Atlantic Ocean.

“What that has done is to more or less slacken the pressure gradient across our region, or weakened the Atlantic Ridge that is there with her presence.” (YB)
