BCCI: No need to rush

The head of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is cautioning Government against “rushing” to pass legislation to ensure that businesses shut down for national disasters.

“I suggest the Social Partnership engage this topic in the near future so we can collectively set a best practice protocol before rushing to add another layer of legislation,” said president Eddy Abed.

Last week, acting Prime Minister Richard Sealy said Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite was looking at the possibility of making it mandatoryfor businesses to comply with the shutdown order. (WILLCOMM)
