A CHRIST CHURCH mechanic is now counting his losses after fire claimed his garage last night.

As he stood in front of the charred rubble today, 56-year-old Lionel Sullivan of 1st Avenue Maxwell Hill recounted what happened .

“It happened about 11:30 last night. I just hear the dogs barking and I hear like a slight explosion. When I came from my house and peeped out I could see like redness in this area where this car is,” Sullivan said as he pointed at a burnt white Toyota Corolla.

“I realised the car was on fire and when I rushed out with the fire extinguisher, the fire was more than I could handle,” he added.

The mechanic said that the fire quickly spread to the other vehicles and then his garage. (AD)
