Deacons and Toners in spanking form

THE 2016 Goddard Enterprises Limited 2016 volleyball league season served off with two sizzling games in the equally hot new venue at the bond at Kensington on Monday night.

At the end of the night a large crowd of supporters saw knockout queens Flow Deacons surging to victory over a youthful Chargers 25-23, 16-25, 25-21, 25-20. 

Burger King Clapham Toners were just as impressive in grilling Carlton 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21.

Superb setting from junior national player Dashonta Addison had looked capable of piloting Chargers to victory when they rushed to 13-4 in the first set. 

Unfortunately, veteran Avara Brown proved the sole worthy attacker for Chargers, whose ground play was sub-standard as Deacons rallied to take the first set. (KB)
