AFTER A RAIN DELAY spanning more than an hour, the second T20 International between West Indies and India at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida was called off.

A match which started about 40 minutes late because of a technical hitch ended in a no-result after heavy rains delayed the Indian chase and a wet outfield caused concern for fielders.

Unlike yesterday’s batting onslaught, West Indies limped to 143 with two balls remaining. Johnson Charles topscored with 43, but yesterday’s century maker Evin Lewis fell for seven.

India had reached 15 without loss after two overs when the rain came.

West Indies won the first T20 by one run in the final over yesterday.

Summarised scores: West Indies 143 all out in 19.4 overs (Johnson Charles 43, Lendl Simmons 19, Carlos Brathwaite 18, Kieron Pollard 13, Andre Russell 13; Amit Mishra 3-24, Ravichandran Ashwin 2-11, Mohammed Shami 2-31, Jasprit Bumrah 2-26). India 15-0 in 2 overs (Rohit Sharma 10). No result.
