CANCER SUPPORT SERVICES is reporting an increase in the number of people diagnosed with cancer.
News of this came from Chief Public Health Nurse Ann Worrell as she delivered opening remarks at last week’s Cancer Support Services 2016 conference, held at the Accra Beach Hotel.
Speaking on behalf of Minister of Health John Boyce, Worrell said that the theme Surviving Cancer had been decided last year after one of their public lectures on pre-habilitation and survivorship.
“Because we had an increasing number of clients coming through our doors being diagnosed with cancer, we thought it was only fitting to have the theme Surviving Cancer for our annual conference for 2016, in an effort to take the veil off the disease,” Worrell told the gathering. (AD)
