THE BARBADOS FIRE Service received a Jaws of Life from the Mansour family this morning.
At a presentation ceremony held at the service’s Probyn Street, Bridgetown headquarters, the donation was made by the Mansour family and the Rotary of Club of Barbados West who formed the Xavier Mansour Jaws of Life Fund.
Xavier Monsour was the victim of a car accident in January 2014.
President of the Rotary of Club of Barbados West Farid Mansour said: “This is a task that I took very personal as I knew it was a necessity. We could not refuse this request as a Rotary Club and his untimely passing sparked a discussion, planning acquisition of this new piece of equipment.”
Meanwhile, acting chief fire officer Errol Maynard was grateful for the donation.
“This gift will assist us as we continue to be a progressive department and strive to be the leader in fire and rescue services in the region,” he said. (KA)
