Storm victim pleads for ‘decent’ home

SEVENTY-SIX-YEAR-OLD McDonald Lovell is a broken man.

And he has put the blame on Tropical Storm Tomas that passed over Barbados six years ago and wreaked havoc on his Brandons Gap, St Michael home.

He said Tomas inflicted extensive damage to his house, which has now become a resting place for three beehives in the rotting ceiling because the roof was extensively damaged during the system.

And as if that was not enough, he is also living with a rotted floor and no running water. He has to catch water to wash down his toilet. (AD)
