BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY (BLP) leader Mia Mottley is predicting that management consultant Kirk Humphrey will silence Barbados’ “sleeping giant” once and for all.
Speaking Sunday night after Humphrey was declared the BLP’s candidate to challenge Prime Minister Freundel Stuart in the St Michael South riding, Mottley suggested that whenever elections were called, Humphrey would repeat the historic 1994 achievement of former minister of tourism Noel Lynch who beat then prime minister [Sir Lloyd] Erskine Sandiford in the same constituency.
Addressing party faithful who packed the auditorium of Graydon Sealy Secondary School, the Opposition Leader blasted Stuart, whom she likened to a sleeping giant, for his poor representation of the people of St Michael South.
She described his leadership style as “indifferent”, charging that he preferred to “speak” to historic figures rather than to deal with his constituents. (SDB Media)
